Why it matters to keep asking why legislatures matter

Legislative scholars are very good at explaining and analysing what legislatures do how they it. But the why question – matter is often taken for granted or not raised all. Our objective in this paper to focus attention back onto ‘why’ explore grounds upon which legislative scholars, others, might be encouraged reconsider basic question. In seeking coax a reconsideration of importance legislatures, we direct towards processes legitimation invested such across world modern era. If, as argue, an answer grounded legitimation, then deficiencies those questionability also expose contingent nature answer.
